The Beginning of All Beginnings

God speaks light into chaos, beginnings, formation, and the power of His Word.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1 : 1 (ASV 1901)

Today, we begin where Scripture begins, with God Himself. Before there was form, beauty, order, or life, there was the living Word. He spoke, and creation responded. He commanded, and chaos bowed. He declared, and life began.

God begins creating with His Word.

He fills what is empty.

He brings light to what is dark.

He breathes life into what is lifeless.

Creation did not start with human effort. It started with divine speech. And your transformation begins the same way.

Every believer’s journey starts by hearing Him. We rush to fix, plan, or act, but Genesis reminds us that nothing changes until God speaks. Your calling, your healing, your growth, all of it begins when His Word meets your obedience.

Maybe you feel like parts of your life are still unformed. Maybe some places feel empty. Maybe some corners feel dark or chaotic.

But the God who spoke light into the void still speaks today. And when He speaks, reality rearranges itself to obey.

Before creation moved, it listened. Before creation flourished, it surrendered. Before creation revealed His glory, it obeyed.

Light obeyed.

Waters obeyed.

Land obeyed.

Life obeyed.

And every act of obedience revealed His glory.

The same is true for you.

When you forgive, His mercy is revealed.

When you serve, His humility is seen.

When you trust, His sovereignty is displayed.

When you worship, His worth is declared.

Obedience is not restriction. It is revelation. It is the language creation still speaks, and the language believers must learn to speak with joy.

As you open your Bible today and study the words of Genesis 1:1, let this settle into your heart:

God still speaks order into chaos.

God still fills what is empty.

God still forms what is formless.

God still creates what pleases Him.

Walk worthy today, not by striving, but by listening, by letting the Word begin something new in you.

Heavenly Father, speak light into my chaos. Form what is formless in me. Fill what is empty. Breathe life where I feel weary or lifeless. Shape my days by Your Word, and create in me what reflects Your glory. Let my life echo Your first command, Let there be light. Amen.

Notebook Reflections for the Walk Worthy Life

  1. Where do you need God’s Word to begin something new in you?

  2. What areas of your life need His order rather than your effort?

  3. How can obedience become your worship today?

Final Note:

If you choose to share your reflections in the comments below for the building up of the body of Christ, please focus on your own relationship, growth, and personal walk with God, being a light to others through your obedience. This space is designed to strengthen a community of believers, not to debate or determine who is right or wrong. Let God do what He does best by working in you and in others through your obedience to Him. God Bless!
